Actions You Can Take Today

Action 1: TOMORROW - Pack the Courtroom Against Lincoln Yards TIF

We now know that exiting mayor Rahm Emanuel rushed through the Lincoln Yards deal to avoid the scheduled property assessment that would have disqualified it for $1.3 billion in Chicago taxpayer funds.

Grassroots Collaborative and Raise Your Hand are suing the City over their administration of the Lincoln Yards TIF. Please join the plaintiffs with their lawyers, Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and National Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, to fill the courtroom and hear the oral arguments on the City's motion to dismiss the case.

Action 3: National Rally to #EndGunViolence in Washington, D.C. on 9/25

Join Pastor Pfleger, Chicago families, and other gun violence prevention activists at the National Rally to #EndGunViolence to pressure Congress to pass gun safety laws on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. on the West Lawn at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC---after the 10 a.m. House Judiciary Committee hearing on assault weapons ban.

The week of July 28 through August 4, 2019, our country saw four mass shootings. This does not include the shootings in Chicago on the weekend of August 3 where eight were killed and 47 wounded. America continues to ignore the easy access and love affair with guns that has blood flowing on its streets. It is time to unite together to put pressure on Congress to stop ignoring this public health crisis and hold Congress accountable for not taking action in passing common sense gun safety laws.

We must demand that Congress pass legislation to guarantee our constitutional right to live!

Buses leave Chicago on 9/24 and return on 9/26. To secure a spot, contact The Faith Community of Saint Sabina at 773-483-4300. Share the rally on Facebook.
