Tuesday, September 24 - Demand Impeachment / Turn Climate Inaction into Climate Action

Actions You Can Take Today

Action 1: Demand Impeachment Now

Congress must act now to impeach President Trump's over his treasonous actions, using his official position to solicit Ukrainian interference in the 2020 election.

We are at a tipping point with impeachment, now is the time for us to apply pressure. House Democrats must use every single tool at their disposal to immediately move forward with impeachment, enforce subpoenas, and publicly expose the High Crimes committed by this President. This is a critical juncture for the future of the Republic.

A majority of House Democrats now support impeachment (you can check to see if your Member of Congress is on the right side of history here), but there are still Illinois Democrats (Cheri Bustos and Dan Lipinski) who don't want an impeachment inquiry into Trump’s blatant corruption, and zero Illinois Republicans support investigations of any kind. Find more information here

  1. Send an email to your representative demanding impeachment now

  2. Call your member of Congress (MoC) NOW and tell them to publicly support impeachment.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [zip code] and a member of Indivisible. I'm calling Rep. [NAME] to urge them to support impeaching Donald Trump. He has committed numerous impeachable offenses, from his corrupt acceptance of money from foreign governments to his many abuses of power. If congress refuses to act to impeach Trump, then our democracy will only grow more fragile and at risk. Will [MoC] publicly support impeaching Trump?

Action 2: Take Action Against Climate Change

Last week’s climate marches were historic, moving, and unprecedented. We’ve all been inspired by how Greta Thunberg turned a one-woman movement into a worldwide phenomenon.

But loving Greta won’t stop climate change.

We need to listen to Greta when she speaks at the UN Climate Change Summit: "I shouldn’t be up here, I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope! How dare you.”

It can be easier to admire this inspiring young woman than it is to fight the seemingly insurmountable challenge of climate change. But the world needs action.

Check out this flowchart to figure out how you can plug in to the climate change movement.
