On Thursday, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) held 3 US children hostage at O'Hare Airport, extorting their parents to put themselves at risk of deportation. The CBP has a long history of separating and terrorizing immigrant families, including with Trump’s announced raids in major U.S. cities. In response to those raids Marriott hotels stated that they would not allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to use their hotels as detention facilities for immigrant detention.
Now, this Tuesday, CBP is having their annual trade symposium in Chicago at the Marriott Marquis Chicago. We are calling on Marriott to cancel the conference and want to make it clear that CBP is not welcome in our city in any capacity.
WHERE: Marriott Marquis Chicago, 2121 South Prairie Avenue, Chicago, IL 60616
WHEN: Tuesday, July 23, at 11:30 AM
Join us to tell CBP, ICE, and DHS to stay out of Chicago! It is time to let them know: we stand against the terrorizing of our immigrant communities, especially communities of color.
It is time to make sure that, without question, they know we will not stop until we ABOLISH ICE.
In addition, please take these actions to shut down the conference
Sign the petition to tell Marriott Marquis to shut down the conference.

Opening: A new study suggests that America is becoming a less welcoming place to people from other countries. But it depends who you ask. Find that study here. Also, we can probably degree that the current president is a tyrant. But what kind of tyrant is he? Friend of the podcast and IC Exec Committee member Jessica Droeger joins to help sort it out.
Interview: Congressman Mike Quigley represents Illinois 5 and is a member of the House Intelligence Committee. Just a few days before Mueller testifies to that committee, the Congressman sat down with Tom to talk about preparations, about the specter of impeachment, and about the business of protecting our Democracy.
