Thursday, October 3 - House Support for Impeachment / Indivisible Chapter Meeting

Actions You Can Take Today

Impeachment Updates

After a whistelblower’s report, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an official impeachment inquiry of Donald Trump. There is a lot of action daily, but the core facts have not changed. We know the Trump administration…

  1. Withheld US foreign assistance from Ukraine.

  2. Asked the Ukrainian government to investigate Joe Biden’s son.

  3. Tried to hide the details by abusing an ultra-secret classification system reserved for the government’s most sensitive information.

Updates: More administration members are now implicated in the affair - VP Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo. The administration and House committees are battling over release of documents. The whistleblower followed correct procedure in raising their concerns that “that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election.” Use these resources to stay up to date:

Action 1: Demand the House Support Impeachment

Congress must act now to impeach President Trump's over his treasonous actions - using his official position to solicit Ukrainian interference in the 2020 election.

If your House Democrat is vocally in favor of impeaching Trump (All Illinois democrats except Cheri Bustos and Dan Lipinski), make sure to thank them for their leadership. If your representative is Cheri Bustos, Dan Lipinski or a Republican, they need little more pressure, remind them of their oath to the Constitution and tell them it’s time to find the truth and hold Trump accountable.

  • Call your member of Congress (MoC) and tell them to publicly support impeachment.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [zip code] and a member of Indivisible. I'm calling Rep. [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] to urge them to go on the record in support of an impeachment inquiry. He has committed numerous impeachable offenses, from his corrupt acceptance of money from foreign governments to his many abuses of power. Will [REPRESENTATIVE NAME] publicly support a vote in the House before Thanksgiving to hold Trump accountable?
