Tools You Can Use

Action 1: Phone Bank for DACA TONIGHT

DACA expires ONE MONTH from today, on March 5. Now is the time to make a critical push to protect more than 800,000 people from deportation from the only country they have ever known. The time to pass the Dream Act is NOW.

Please help the effort by making phone calls to voters in key states to ask them to contact their lawmakers on this vital issue. There are two phone bank sessions happening tonight:

  • Oak Park: RSVP to phone bank from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Democratic Party of Oak Park (6941-A W. North Ave.)

  • North Side: RSVP to phone bank from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at 47th Ward Democrats’ office (2234 W. Irving Park Rd.)

Please bring your cell phone and headphones and if possible, a laptop/tablet (this makes it easier to read the call script). Charging cables or extra battery packs are recommended!

Action 3: Listen to the Indivisible Chicago Podcast

Every Sunday, Indivisible Chicago members Tom Moss and Dan Nelson release a new episode of the Indivisible Chicago Podcast. It’s a great way to keep up with the latest news about the Indivisible movement on a local level and to stay plugged in to upcoming efforts around the city.

This week, Tom Moss talks with progressive candidate Marie Newman, who is challenging incumbent Democrat Dan Lapinski in Illinois 3. Also, Bushra Amiwala, candidate for Cook County Commissioner and DePaul University sophomore, talks about her campaign. Jessica Olson of Solidarity Sundays joins to talk about getting out the vote. And learn more about the Indivisible Chicago Summit on March 11 from Josh Fox.

Give it a listen here, and subscribe via iTunes to follow along with new episodes.
