Action 1: Phone Bank for the Dream Act This Week

We have TWO WEEKS left to pass the Dream Act, and Congress must act now.

It is urgent that we organize and mobilize our community; including students, parents, teachers, and allies to phone bank for DACA recipients. Our representatives need to hear our loud and clear message that they are here to stay and that we need a clean Dream Act to pass NOW!

Join us for three sessions of phone banking this week to call registered voters and urge them to contact their representatives about the Dream Act!

  • TODAY, January 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 3422 W Maple St, Evergreen Park, IL; RSVP here

  • Wednesday, January 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St Anthony's Wellness Center, 2826 West Cermak Rd; RSVP here

  • Monday, January 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 5301 N Clark St, 2nd Fl; RSVP here

Please bring your cell phone and headphones and if possible, a laptop/tablet (this makes it easier to read the call script). Charging cables or extra battery packs are recommended!

Action 2: Host a Dream Act Phone Bank

Want to do more to fight for the Dream Act? Consider hosting a phone bank session in your home. The more places we can provide for volunteers to gather all over the city, the more calls we can make on behalf of the 800,000 DACA recipients who are counting on us!

If you’d like to know more or are interested in hosting a phone bank, please email Eric at egosh@indivisibleil.com.

Action 3: Marshal Training for the Women’s March

The Women’s March to the Polls is coming up on Saturday, January 20. To help ensure a positive, orderly environment at March, we need as many volunteer marshals as possible. There are several simple, fun training sessions coming up that will teach you all you need to know about how to guide marchers as they make their voices heard and fight for women’s rights that day.

Marshal training lasts less than two hours, is a great way to meet other marchers, and offers you new expertise. Learn more about marshal training.
