Tools You Can Use

Action 1: Phone Bank Against Trumpcare 3.0 from Home or at Northwest Side Event MONDAY

Your tireless (and loud!) constituent power killed Trumpcare in July. And now, millions of people are depending on you to do it again. Illinois Indivisibles can do the most good by blue state/red state phone banking, where folks in blue states contact voters in a key state with a swing Republican Senator. These folks are your friends—they attended the Women’s March, they’re standing up to #DefendDACA, and/or fight for progressive causes.

Attend the Northwest Side phone bank event on Monday, September 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church (upstairs - 3857 North Kostner Avenue). RSVP HERE

Keep up with future Indivisible Chicago phone bank events here, or phone bank from your own home any time with Indivisible’s Trump Care 10 tool.

The tool connects you with swing state voters to remind them why the continued fight against TrumpCare is so important—and why they have particular power in this moment.

You ask them to use their power by calling their senator in opposition to the bill. The call tool will allow you to automatically patch them through to the Senators’ district offices.

It’s super easy: more than 1,000 Indivisibles in blue states made 100,000 phone calls to constituents in our target states in the final two days before the healthcare vote in July. And we won. We can win this time, too. Sign up to phone bank today!

Action 2: DEADLINE TODAY - Sign Up for ACA Enrollment Reminder Thunderclap on 9/23

The 2018 ACA Open Enrollment dates are November 1 - December 15, 2017. Trump has not only shortened the window to enroll; he has also slashed the advertising budget by 90%. We may be focusing on saving the ACA (again!),  but we still need to get the word out to people to sign up for 2018 coverage during the open enrollment dates.

Sign up for the Indivisible "Thunderclap" campaign, where a huge volume of tweets and Facebook posts will go out together on Saturday, September 23rd. The first campaign on 9/9 got over 2K supporters with a total audience of nearly 5.9 million people.

Please sign up and then share the link with your social media audience on Facebook and Twitter, and encourage others to do the same. It just takes a moment to do it, and it will have a huge impact on getting the word out about the open enrollment dates. Today is the last day, so sign up here!

Action 3: Attend Expert Discussion on Refugees and National Security on 9/27

Indivisible Pilsen, in collaboration with Welcoming the Stranger and Loop Church, is sponsoring an expert panel discussion on America’s refugee policy, which is undergoing major changes under the Trump administration. The expert-led discussion will focus on the proposed reduction in overall admissions, the program funding levels, and how that impacts our national security, economy, and other areas. This is a chance to learn about the current global refugee situation, the admissions process, the implications of current policy, and what you can do to make your voice heard.

RSVP to attend the event on Wednesday, September 27 at Loop Church (11th E Adams St, 12 floor) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
