Why Today's Action is Important

Action #1: Listen and subscribe to the Indivisible Chicago Podcast with Illinois Chief Budget Negotiator Greg Harris and Indivisible co-founder Leah Greenberg

Illinois passing a budget was one of the biggest stories of the last two years (how sad is that). Representative Greg Harris worked with both Democrats and Republicans to broker a compromise sufficient to garner a veto-proof super majority. Indivisible Chicago obtained an exclusive interview with Greg Harris and he breaks down all the details of how the budget came to be and what it's like trying to appease over a hundred different legislators, each with their own concerns.

To top that off, we have an interview with Leah Greenberg, one of the co-founders of the Indivisible movement! It's a fascinating interview, hearing how this movement was all started and where it is going.

The Indivisible Chicago podcast was started by Tom Moss and Dan Nelson. They discuss the weeks news from the unique perspective of the Indivisible movement. In previous weeks, they've interviewed Tammy Duckworth, Daniel Biss, and Ameya Pawar as well as Indivisible Chicago leaders such as Robin Dusek, Jessica Droeger, and Jason Rieger. Check it out.

Action #2: Call your Senator and ask them to keep the focus on healthcare and keep speaking out against BCRA

With all the Donald Trump Jr.  and Ivanka nonsense in the news, the media is losing the thread on the one issue that affects our country the most: healthcare. The bill is losing supporters in droves and the more this bill is in the news, the worst it is for Mitch McConnell. He'd like to pass it under cover of darkness, but we can't let him do that.

The issue with the Trump kids is important, but there's not much anyone can do about it right now. Bob Mueller will handle the Donald Jr. business and nothing is going to come of the Ivanka issue. It's a distraction pure and simple. Help keep the pressure on and keep calling our Senators!
