Script: Hi, my name is ___________ and I'm a registered voter in Illinois. I'm calling to ask the Board of Elections to deny any request for voter rolls from the Trump Administration and release a public statement. The requested level of detail is completely unnecessary and is part of national effort to disenfranchise voters.

Action #3: Call the Governor and demand he speak out for Medicaid and ACA

Chicago office: 312-814-2121

Script: Hi, my name is ____________ and I am a registered voter in Illinois. I'm calling to ask Governor Rauner to publicly oppose the proposed $800 billion dollar cuts to medicaid. 2.9 million Illinois residents depend on medicaid, especially seniors, babies, veterans and the disabled. These cuts are immoral and I'm asking the governor to speak out against them.

Why Today's Actions Are Important

Action #1: Call Illinois Board of Elections and ask that they deny Kris Kobach and the Trump Administration their request for voter rolls

Three Secretaries of State have already come out against Kris Kobach and Trump administration's request for detailed voter rolls. Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Grimes came out with an especially strong statement.

We need the Board of Elections to come out in an equally strong manner. Illinois, one of the few remaining blue states in the midwest, needs to take the lead and push back against this request. Kris Kobach has a long history in Kansas of voter suppression and we can't let him take his efforts to the national level.

Action #2: Share your Medicaid or ACA story with Protect our Care

Protect our care is gathering stories of how people's lives would be impacted by the repeal of ACA and the potential cuts to Medicaid. You can send a video, a photo, or a text version of your story and these stories will be the ammunition used in the fight to save ACA and Medicaid. Personal stories are far more impactful than statics. It lets the Senators know that their decisions impact real lives.

Action #3: Call the Governor and demand he speak out for Medicaid and ACA

Wednesday we took to the Thompson Center, forming a human chain across the buliding. Melanie Hoekstra and Dr. Ram Krishnamoorthi spoke about the huge impact repeal of ACA would have on patients and doctors alike. And a petition with thousands of signatures, thirty-one feet long in total, was delivered to the governor. Now we have to follow that up with calls to the Governor to let him know we aren't going away.
