Why Today's Actions Are Important
Action #2: Attend rally tonight protesting Rauner and the Seven Illinois Republican reps
Join us for a protest and press conference outside a $10,000 a plate fundraiser attended by Governor Rauner and the Illiniois Republican Members of Congress. Tell Rauner and the GOP Congressmen to do their jobs, save our healthcare.
The protest and press confernece will be held on the sidewalk outside Gene & Georgetti Steakhouse (where the Rauner/IL GOP fundraiser is being held) near Higgins Road & River Road, Rosemont, IL.
While IL surpasses 700 days with no budget and with the healthcare of over a million families in Illinois at risk, Governor Rauner and IL GOP Congressmen will gather for a $10,000 fundraiser in Rosemont dubbed "Cocktails with the Congressmen."
All Illinois Republican Congressmen recently voted for a bill cuts healthcare for 23 million people while giving huge tax cuts to the rich (including $6.6 million tax break for Rauner).
Gov. Bruce Rauner and Congressmen Roskam, Davis, Shimkus, Bost, , Kinzinger, LaHood, Hultgren are not doing their jobs. They are working against the interests of their constituents.
Action #3: Attend rally downtown Chicago as the Signs 4 Sellouts 26' Mobile Billboard comes to Chicago
When Illinois GOP Congressmen Roskam, Hultgren, Kinzinger, Davis, Bost, LaHood and Shimkus cast their votes in favor of #TrumpCare, they voted to take away healthcare from tens of millions; gut protections for preexisting conditions; cut funding $880 billion from #Medicaid for children, the disabled, veterans and the sick to fund a massive tax break for corporations and the rich; and defund Planned Parenthood. Governor Rauner has remained silent in the face of this devastation for Illinois. In doing so, they attacked the very Illinoisans they swore to protect.
Come join us as the massive MOBILE BILLBOARD BUS ends its statewide tour in Chicago. Stand in Solidarity with the millions of Illinoisans who will lose coverage, with 42% of rural children, with the 1 in 2 births covered by Medicaid, with our fellow citizens dependent on Rural Hospitals that will close under the GOP plan. Please bring your stories and raise your voices, letting everyone know - including any present press - how this vote will affect you and your loved ones.
Illinois will never forget this vote— and we will continue to show up to hold them accountable. Our voices will be heard whether they hold town halls or not, and we will remember in 2108. The fight starts in Illinois, right now.
If you cannot make this event, please consider donating so that we may purchase more billboards across Illinois at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/signsforsellouts?refcode=indivisible
