Call your Illinois Representative and tell them to put a budget in front of Rauner
The Illinois Senate budget has gone to the House, the next step before it makes it to Rauner's desk. We absolutely must have a budget in Illinois, as Illinois residents are being denied access to every manner of critical services, from child-care assistance to breast cancer screenings. It's easy to blame Rauner - and we do - but first and foremost he has to have a budget to sign.
Call your Illinois State Rep and tell them to put aside partisan politics and get a budget on Rauner's desk so we can get back to a functioning state.
Script: Hi, my name is ____________ and I'm a constituent of Representative ____________. I'm calling to ask _____________ to pass a budget through the house and out it in front of the Governor. We need to get this state back on track.
We are still looking for a few things. We are looking for marchers, marshals, and money! We are getting so close to our 10k goal to pay for stages, port-a-potties, and police. Also, we have about 15 marshals and we would like to have 50. Training will be provided and that will allow you to marshal for future marches. And finally, please share share share the Facebook event and let everyone know to get done to Federal Plaza on June 3rd!
