Filibuster Gorsuch and vote no on cloture
The Senate seems to have closed in on the decision to filibuster. Chuck Schumer has made it clear that the Democrats will require 60 votes to confirm Gorsuch, which is the correct move. It's always been the standard that Supreme Court justices are required to clear the 60 vote threshold. And if Gorsuch isn't a guy who can rally enough votes, then they need to nominate someone else. I'm pretty sure if they put Merrick Garland up there then Democrats would have no problem voting him in.
The other important thing is that the Democrats have to vote no on cloture. Cloture is the vote that ends a filibuster and limits further debate to 30 hours before a vote can occur. They absolutely have to vote no on this and have indicated that they will.
That being said, a final caveat. While Schumer, Perez, and Warren have been pushing back hard against a nomination, we haven't heard such strong rhetoric from Durbin or Duckworth. Senator Durbin is a very powerful member of the Senate and we need him to be a strong voice in this action.
Action: Call Senators Durbin and Duckworth and tell them to filibuster the Gorsuch nomination and vote no cloture and be a strong voice in the Senate defending this action.
Script: Hi, my name is __________ and I'm a constituent of Senator _________. I'm calling to ask the Senator to support a filibuster of Neil Gorsuch's appointment. Beyond that, I'm asking the Senator to vote no on cloture and require Gorsuch to get 60 votes for a nomination. I'm asking the Senator to push hard for this and be a strong voice in opposition to the Gorsuch nomination.

Senator Duckworth - 312-886-3506
Support Jon Ossoff for Georgia 6th
Jon Ossoff, according to a poll conducted for a Fox Affiliate, is leading Republican Karen Handel in the field for the April 18th election. He needs to be one of the top two vote getters to appear on the June 20th ballot. Now that Republicans have failed to deliver on their promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, there's a better chance than ever to take this seat. But we have to push hard for this.
Paul Ryan knows what's at stake. He's thrown 2 million dollars into ads against Ossoff. Ossoff needs money to fight back and it would be great if we could all donate a little. Go to his website and send a little money his way and let's show this movement can deliver in elections as well. On his site there's also an opportunity to sign up for virtual phone banking. We are going to explore doing this as a team, but it's easy to do from home on your own as well.
Let's flip this seat and start to deliver votes.
