Monday. February 6th - EPA under fire

Emergency Rally at the EPA Offices

Who: EPA workers, Food & Water Watch members, Sierra Club members, allies
What: #SaveEPA lunchtime rally
When: Monday, February 6 at noon
Where: Federal Plaza, 76 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60604 (map)

Congress has introduced a bill to terminate the EPA.  I mean, of course they have.  It's the logical continuation of their all out assault on the environment.  We need to rally to show our support for the EPA and the work they do.

As this rally is last minute, we aren't going to be able to designate a formal gathering of our group.  Just come on down and add your voice to the crowd.  If you bring a sign supporting the EPA, add @IndivisibleChi on there so everyone knows who you represent.

Call Homeland Security Committee

The Homeland Security Council can block Steve Bannon from the National Security Council.  Call 202-224-4751 to leave a message letting them know you don't want him anywhere near the council.  Just leave a simple message:

"Hello, my name is _______. I'm from ________.  I don't need a call back.  I'm calling because Steve Bannon is a white supremacist talk show host and his is unfit for a leadership roll anywhere within our government.  Thank you."  (Thanks to National Immigration Law Center)

If you're feeling it, put it in your own words, but I would imagine they're just aggregating all messages to a number of calls on a topic.  Give a call.  It'll take roughly 14 seconds.

Ask Senators Durbin and Duckworth to co-sponsor S291

Mark Warner (D-Va) has introduced a bill to amend the National Security Act of 1947 to modify the requirements for membership on the National Security Council.  This would directly impact Steve Bannon and prevent future Bannons from sitting on this council.  This bill just came out, so no other information is available just yet.

Call and ask Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth to co-sponsor this bill.

"Hi, my name is ________.  I'm a constituent of Senator ________. I'm asking the Senator to co-sponsor S291, introduced by Mark Warner, modifying requirements for membership on the National Security council. Thank you."

That's it, short and sweet as I'm sure their phones are still going to be swamped.

Until tomorrow.  Resist.
