Monday, February 20th - Presidents day

Today is President's day, so offices are closed.  That means only one call today plus a couple different actions.

Call your State Senator on SB1933

From the proposed billAmends the Election Code. Provides that the State Board of Elections and the Office of the Secretary of State shall establish an automatic voter registration program pursuant to an interagency contract and jointly-adopted rules.

So, in other words, Illinois would be adopting automatic voter registration. This is important as more and more states are moving towards regressive voter registration standards.  Your state Senator's office will be closed, but you can leave them a voicemail and they might even call you back.  They aren't so used to having a bunch of voicemails so let's blow their minds with a full mailbox.

Make plans to attend the Indivisible Statewide Rally

We will be holding a rally on the 23rd at every Congressional district across the state.  We need you to be there.  Find all listings at this link or click on Statewide Day of Action on the main Indivisible Chicago page.

Sync your Calendars with our Town Hall Calendar

The Indivisible Chicago calendar is now live, just in time for our MoCs’ week back their districts. If you want to view the calendar online, go here  If you want to synchronize it with your own google calendar (computer, Android phone/table) or Apple calendar (computer, iPhone, iPad), please use this link.  For help synchronizing the Indivisible Calendar to your device, go here. Questions, technical issues and compliments related to the calendar only should go to

Calendar Content: The calendar includes MoC events: town halls, open office hours (usually with staff), ticketed events, conference call town halls, and coffees.  It also includes the repeating Trump Tuesday Rallies, local Indivisible Group meetings, and special Rallies organized or co-organized by local Indivisible groups (such as the Thursday, Feb. 23 Day of Action Rallies). Not every rally can or will be included because of the spontaneity and frequency of many rallies.

Calendar Functionality: The calendar provides accurate date, time, and location information as well as hyperlinks to additional information or RSVPs that may be found in the description field of each event. The calendar is dynamic and, once synchronized, will update new events and any changes to existing events so you can get active with your community and your MoC!  Note: if you synchronize this with a work calendar, it will not block your availability. We know you can’t attend every event, but we also know you want to be informed of all of them.

Calendar Partners and volunteers: To get the Town Hall data we have partnered with the Town Hall Project to provide them with information on Sen. Durbin, Sen. Duckworth, Rep. Davis, Rep. Gutierrez, Rep. Quigley, Rep. Rush, and Rep. Schakowsky, which Town Hall Project are publicizing on a national database of town halls (visit here). In turn, we pull that data back into our calendar for the MoCs in our area. Many thanks to the terrific volunteers who are doing this work for us — you are truly the Magnificent Seven!
