Action 1: URGENT - Protest the GOP Tax Scam TODAY

The Republican tax bill is terrible for jobs, terrible for public services and health care, and terrible for racial, gender, and economic inequality in the U.S. Elected officials who voted for this bill need to be held accountable.

That’s why Indivisible Chicago is protesting against Peter Roskam (IL6), one of the main architects of the #GOPTaxScam. Let's hold him accountable.

Join us TODAY at the Chicago Board of Trade (141 W. Jackson Blvd.) from noon to 1 p.m. where we will make our voices heard! RSVP and share the event on Facebook.

If you can’t make it at noon, join us for a march to shut down LaSalle street TODAY from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting at 300 S. LaSalle Street. RSVP and share the event on Facebook.

The Tax Scam isn’t law yet -- it’s important that we keep raising our voices against this bill as it goes to conference in the House. We cannot stop fighting now! We hope you’ll join us.

Action 2: Protest Verizon, Save #NetNeutrality on Thursday

If corporations control the Internet, they control the most important organizing tool of our time.

Join us on Thursday to protest Verizon, an organization that spent $10,080,000 this year lobbying against Net Neutrality. We will stand in solidarity with Internet users across the country outraged at top Verizon lawyer turned FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s plan to gut net neutrality. This event will mark one week before an expected vote at the FCC. Protesters will make it clear to members of Congress that it is time to stand for #NetNeutrality, not Verizon’s bottom line.

When: Thursday, December 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Verizon Store (36 S. State Street)
View event details on Facebook
RSVP here

Please remember, this event is about protesting actions of Verizon executives, lobbyists, and their supporters in Washington, NOT the employees at these stores.

Action 3: Listen to the Latest Episode of the Indivisible Chicago Podcast

Every Sunday, Indivisible Chicago members Tom Moss and Dan Nelson release a new episode of the Indivisible Chicago Podcast. It’s a great way to keep up with the latest news about the Indivisible movement on a local level and to stay plugged in to upcoming efforts around the city.

This week, we discuss our multi-part series — a podcast forum featuring each of the candidates for Governor and crowdsourced questions from the Indivisible Chicago membership. Martin Cuellar joins to discuss the process of crowdsourcing the questions for the candidates. And Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth joins to discuss the GOP Tax Scam protests happening today.
