Tools You Can Use

Action 1: Pledge to Rally if Trump Fires Mueller

We could have a deepening Constitutional crisis on our hands. Donald Trump is considering firing the man investigating him and his inner circle, special counsel Robert Mueller. If this happens, our immediate response will determine the future of our democracy.

That's why Indivisible Chicago is partnering with many organizations to prepare emergency "Nobody is Above the Law" rallies that will happen directly following the firing should it occur. There are already events in 180 locations scheduled across the country! Indivisible Chicago is the host and lead for the rally that will happen at Federal Plaza should Mueller be fired.

Action 2: Call on Senators to Take (and Keep!) the Dreamer Pledge

Because Trump terminated DACA, over 10,000 Dreamers are estimated to have already lost their protections, and nearly 1,000 more will lose DACA each week and become vulnerable to Trump’s deportation force. And many Democrats voted to pass a continuing budget resolution without demanding a clean Dream Act -- including Senators Durbin and Duckworth.

Despite having previously taken the Dreamer Pledge and being a cosponsor of the Dream Act, Senator Durbin voted for the continuing resolution. The pledge states that Senators will only commit to vote on a “continuing resolution” that has the Dream Act attached. Call Senator Durbin and ask him to follow through on the Pledge, and continue to tell Duckworth: a vote on a continuing resolution without the Dream Act is a vote to deport Dreamers -- no Dream, no CR!

Call Senator Duckworth | DC: 202-224-2854 | Chicago 312-886-3506
Call Senator Durbin | DC:  202-224-2152 | Chicago 312-353-4952

Script: Hello! My name is [name] and I’m calling from [zip code]. Because Trump terminated DACA, over 10,000 Dreamers are estimated to have already lost their protections, and nearly 1,000 more will lose DACA each week and become vulnerable to Trump’s deportation force. For those young people and their families, this is an emergency, and we must take this opportunity to protect them by passing a clean Dream Act. I'm very disappointed in the Senator's decision to vote for the continuing resolution yesterday. Any CR without the Dream Act is a vote to deport Dreamers.
