Action 1: Tell Rauner to Oppose the #TrumpTaxScam

Senate Republican are expected to unveil legislation on Thursday that would eliminate the ability of people to deduct state and local taxes. This could have devastating effects on Illinois residents who could see their tax bills rise with the elimination of that deduction, while the rich enjoy a large, unnecessary tax break at the expense of Medicaid.

If Governor Rauner is against raising taxes on the middle class, he should be against this tax bill. Call him and tell him to speak out against this scam of a tax bill.

Call Governor Rauner: Springfield 217-782-0244 | Chicago 312-814-2121

Script: Hello, I’m [name] calling from [zip code], and I’m a member of Indivisible Chicago. I’m calling to ask the Governor to speak out against the GOP tax bill. The Senate bill currently eliminates the state and local tax deduction, which would raise taxes for Illinois’ middle class. The Governor must protect Illinois residents by speaking out out forcefully against this bill. Thank you.
