Action 1: Donate to Hurricane Maria Relief

The crisis in Puerto Rico continues to worsen, and government relief efforts have not been sufficient. While Trump is ridiculing and demeaning the U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico in their time of need, many organizations are stepping up to help prevent further casualties.

If you have the means, please consider donating funds or supplies to organizations working to save lives in Puerto Rico. Click here for a list of great places to donate.

Action 2: Call on Senators to Pass the DREAM Act

Senator Durbin has, of course, been an amazing champion for the DACA program and deserves all our thanks. And Senator Duckworth has also come out in defense of those allowed to stay and work or go to school here under the DACA program. However, we need them to take the next step and push a little harder.

A lot has happened since Trump announced the end of DACA, but we need to keep the DREAM Act top of mind. Call our Senators to demand that they keep pushing McConnell to bring the DREAM Act up for a vote as soon as possible.

Call Senator Duckworth | DC:  202-224-2854 | Chicago 312-886-3506
Call Senator Durbin | DC:  202-224-2152 | Chicago 312-353-4952

Script: Hi, my name is ______________ from [zip code], and I’m a member of Indivisible Chicago. I'm calling because, while I appreciate all Senator ______ has done for DACA, we need to push even harder. I'd like to ask the Senator to attach the DREAM Act to any must pass legislation that comes up. It's imperative that we ensure a secure future for all DACA recipients after they have placed their trust in our government to protect them.Thank you.
